Realism at Midwest Virtual Airlines
Here at Midwest Virtual Airlines, we like to do things a bit differently than other virtual airlines out there today. We are different in the way that we try to accurately simulate being a real world pilot to a tee. We start you out on one of the more realistic levels of realism, tier two, which is explained below. If at any point in time this is too much for you to do, or you are unable to use some of our features, you can fill out the form on the training page, which will let us know so we can change your tier level.
Tier 1 (Easy)
Our first tier of realism is Tier one. Tier one is how a standard virtual airline operates. As the pilot, you are able to select when and where you would like to fly, and if you would like to fly by yourself. (We do use the TFDI shared cockpit feature for some of our flights.)
Tier 2 (Intermediate)
Tier two is also a very easy option. Tier two includes schedules generated by our scheduling department that are then emailed to the pilot before each trip they complete, The pilot may also request to be scheduled on a shared cockpit trip with another pilot here. This tier is basically like the third and final tier, but it is much less restrictive on what you can or cannot do.
Tier 3 (Realistic)
Tier three is the most realistic, yet most restrictive tier. This tier requires you to be assigned trips that are scheduled by our scheduling department, along with requiring the pilot to fly along side another pilot in shared cockpit mode.
Disclaimer
All schedules that you receive are generated by an actual person, and they will work around your schedule if necessary. Pilots will be emailed a calendar every month, which they will block out with times they are not available to fly, and times they are available to fly. Our scheduling department will then use this calendar to make you a trip, and they will send it to you a few days prior to the first departure.
